So many fun things about Alisa and John's wedding - I can't wait to share it, but for now, here's one ceremony image.
Melissa + Donovan Engagement!
When we set out from our home in Oakland for Melissa and Donovan's engagement shoot in the Marin Headlands, the sun was shining and we had a detailed plan. We plan out our shoots so we can control the final outcome of our images, doing our best to give our couples exactly what they want. When we reached our first stop, the wind whipped across Cavallo Point and showed us what little control we had. The fog quickly hid the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco skyline, two features Melissa and Donovan had wanted in the background of their portraits. The plan was done, but somehow it didn't seem to matter.
Melissa tossed her hair into a braid, laughed and moved on. Their love and the summer fog were better than any plan we could have ever come up with sitting at home. Adm and I played with the light and the fog, both knowing this was an opportunity too precious to pass up: a couple willing to let go and be themselves, perfect light, the perfect place and a perfect moment.

Ms. Lily Bo
When we arrived to photograph Adm's niece Lily, she was wearing her Cinderella dress and playing with her dad, Adm's oldest brother Aaron. Lily is four, and "a big girl now" she will be happy to tell you. Her Golub traits were quickly made apparent as she cheesed for the camera, ready to pose and smile from ear to ear.
Adm and I had a blast chasing Lily around the house taking her from one type of light to another. As you will be able to tell from the photos, she is an overabundance of joy. Right now, her favorite thing is Rapunzel and she kept saying she was having the best day ever. Even if she was just quoting the movie, we'll take it! (Photos by both Adm and me)

India + Brian in Livermore, CA
When Brian was five years old, he went to his parents with tears in his eyes and told them that he never wanted to get married because he would have to leave them. But as it happens in boys' lives, one day he came home from a ski trip and all he could talk about was the girl he had met instead of the snow or his friends. The girl was India, and it wasn't long before Brian's parents also knew how special she was. Ever since, India and Brian have been inseparable.
India and Brian had their ceremony and reception at a winery in Livermore, California. Their reception was a blast of color with peacock feathers and an array of turquoise, purple, red and fuchsia. Of course, India looked absolutely stunning, and Brian couldn't keep his eyes off her. It was an all around beautiful and fun evening.

Jennifer + Eddie in Livermore, CA
Jennifer and Eddie’s wedding was one eleven years in the making. Their romance started while in college at UCLA and reignited years later while they were both working in New York. Now, these two are so in love that when I asked them to take a step apart for one portrait, they replied, “But we don’t wanna."
They had a Catholic ceremony at St. Michael’s church in Livermore, CA, which was followed by a poker-themed reception just down the road at a nearby winery. I have to mention that as someone with a lot of school spirit (GO HEELS!), I also really enjoyed all of the UCLA touches they added to their wedding: a Bruin chant before the cake cutting, a Bruin garter, cake topper and M&Ms. Also, these two totally know how to throw a raging dance party, so the reception seemed to just fly by with almost everyone out on the dance floor all night long. Congratulations, Jennifer and Eddie!
