Addie + Jon Engagement

So, Addie and Jon's session was one of our favorites, and I swear it wasn't just because they gave us raw cookie dough.  We started their shoot baking cookies in the kitchen, and then wandered around the Presidio in San Francisco.  Addie grew up in the Presidio, and it's so fun walking the neighborhood with a true local who knows where the random swing is or wants to wander through the old horse stables.  Jon and Addie are getting married next May so stay tuned for their wedding!

Lucie + Brendan in Sebastopol, CA

Happy Halloween!  This post has nothing to do with Halloween, but it is a beautiful wedding that we are excited to share.  So, enjoy!

Lucie and Brendan have an amazing story as you may remember when we posted their engagement shoot here.  After going to high school together and maintaining a friendship that spanned years and the entire country, Lucie and Brendan fell in love.  Well, the Oakland A's and a broken leg may have helped their love along.

The Vine Hill House was the perfect place for them to continue their story and get married.  They had a gorgeous summer wedding - the vines were lush, the weather was warm and not too hot, their families and friends gave some of the most amazing toasts including surprising them with a kazoo performance - everything was perfect.  Congratulations, Lucie and Brendan!

Julie, Greg and Wyatt

We are editing what feels like a billion weddings right now, and so I thought this little lifestyle shoot of Julie would be a nice break!  Julie Edwards is a dear friend and amazing graphic designer.  She needed some new portraits that reflect her personality, which hopefully you can tell from these photos is very warm and bubbly.  We spent an afternoon in Temescal Alley in Oakland making lots of pictures, and her husband Greg and dog Wyatt joined in as well.  I've always been an opportunist so I figured that if she was going to put the effort into having her picture taken, she might as well add in a few photos with her family.  Plus, both Greg and Wyatt have their own great style - I mean, not every dog knows how work that bike basket next to a bunch of tulips like Wyatt does.  I know Kiki could use a few tips on patiently posing for photos.  One of the things that I love about this session is that everything took place on the same block, probably within a 1000 sq. ft area.  Just goes to show that you can really get a lot of mileage out of small spaces sometimes.

Tracy + Frank in San Francisco, CA

There's a lot of Giants love in my house.  I played D1 softball in college at UNC, and I love baseball.  And I mean, two championships in three seasons (this last one doesn't count) - how could you not love the Giants?  I even drink out of Giants water cups everyday!  But, I don't think the Giants love in our house holds a candle to the love that Tracy and Frank have for them.  They went so far as to do wedding party portraits at AT&T Park and check out that amazing cake topper!  It's pretty epic.

Tracy and Frank were married at the Bently Reserve right in the heart of the Financial District in San Francisco.  Everything about their wedding was quintessential San Francisco elegance.  The historic building where they held their wedding was gorgeous, we went on a cable car ride around town for portraits, and even the cold windy weather in June was typical SF.  We had a blast photographing these two, who know how to throw a killer party (the dancing photos at the bottom of the post are evidence of that!).  Congrats Tracy and Frank!  We had so much fun getting to know you during your engagement session and wedding!

Loni + Steph in San Francisco, CA

So, there's this Blue Cross Blue Shield commercial with a talking head explaining about his lost toof, and it's hilarious.  I mean, it just cracks me up every. single. time.  And this brings me to how I know Loni and Steph.  You see, we played on a slow pitch softball team together (go Smoke!), and someone may have lost a front tooth.  Anyhow, from meeting with Loni and Steph to photographing their wedding, every moment has been full of belly laughs.  With so much laughter, we know these two are bound for a stupendous marriage!

Sarah + Ben in Los Angeles, CA

Whenever we meet with our clients, we always ask them what they're most excited about for the wedding.  You know what they say?  Aside from the actual getting married part, everyone is always most excited for the people.  It's a pretty rare thing to have all the people in the world closest to you in the same place at the same time to celebrate you.  And Sarah and Ben have a pretty phenomenal group of people around them.  Their friend Sam wrote and officiated one of the most beautiful ceremonies we've seen, and it was obvious that these two come from very loving and supportive families.  I should know, Sarah's mom, Lyssa, taught me English in tenth grade, and she was one of my favorite teachers.  In that sense, I was also excited for this wedding because I got to see lots of familiar faces (and two of my other favorite teachers) from my high school.  But, enough about me.

Sarah and Ben were married at Occidental College, which provided a gorgeous setting, and we had a great time wandering the campus for portraits, especially since Sarah knew lots of secret spots.  And Ben and his groomsmen kept the dance floor packed all night long which made for a super fun party.  Congrats you two!
