Happy 10 years to us!

Alison Yin June 27, 2019

Hi friends! I can’t even really believe I’m writing this… that this year marks our 10th year of being full time wedding photographers. SAY WHAT?!! 10 YEARS! It’s pretty incredible thinking back on the hundreds of weddings we’ve been a part over the last decade, and truthfully, it makes me feel super old, but that’s not what this post is about. This post is about acknowledging that Adm and I have been able to work together as partners in life and business for a decade and we’re both still here to tell you about it. For anyone who has ever worked with their spouse you know what a huge feat this is. There are a lot of perks to working with the person you love more than anything in the world, but it’s also incredibly challenging so kudos to us!

Naturally, we have a giant folder of images of us working so we thought it would be fun to share some of them. So without further adieu, I give you ten years of what it looks like working together. One thing that struck me in going through these photos is that we still have a lot of fun together and with our couples.

To get started, here we are in our first year, 2009, looking so young and so fresh.

I also noticed a trend in looking through these photos… I’m always trying to get taller.

…and Adm’s always trying to be smaller.

Adm brings many other talents to our photo shoots…

Baby whisperer (don’t worry, he won’t grab stranger’s babies - she’s our niece who was also a wedding guest!).

And lastly, wedding photographer saves the day (and the forest)! Adm actually used to be a wild land firefighter so he’s not just pretending here. This bonfire got a little out of control during a reception and he took care of it.

Not to be outdone by Adm, I too can style a veil, hold a bouquet, and fluff a dress.

And apparently I like to mix in some hide-n-seek during our weddings. I can’t help it I’m a photobomb ninja.

We’re both expert cheesers.

We have loads more photos that maybe we’ll share later on but this seems like enough for now. It really has been an incredible ten years. We’ve witnessed so much love and beauty and been privy to the inner workings of families who don’t know us but who have let us into their lives during incredibly intimate moments. Many of these families have inspired us as we’ve navigated our own relationship and now parenting dynamics. We’ve also worked really hard - logging a billion steps each wedding, collaborating with our couples and other vendors, improving our photography with every session. We’re so grateful for our couples whose trust obviously has allowed us to continue doing what we love. And a huge thank you to all the amazing wedding vendors we get to work with - it takes a village and we appreciate you! So, here’s to another ten years, one wedding at a time!

Yesterday was a tough one navigating multiple cancellations and postponements.  Lining up all the same vendors for new dates is a logistical nightmare and we are doing our very best to accommodate our clients as much as possible.
In case this i Hi 👋🏽! Remember me?! I’ve taken a (much needed) break from social media so I’m popping in to say hey! Consistency is definitely my number one problem when it comes to posting and when things like the election and coronavirus happen soc Wowowowowowowow! We’re definitely still recovering from our whirlwind 72 hours in Florida for Jamie and Ryan’s incredible wedding but what a wedding it was! Or rather, dance party. You guys, there was SO.MUCH.DANCING. I guess I should These two are getting hitched this weekend! Pretty pumped to be in Florida for their wedding! 😎☀️ #alisonyinweddings Such a fun portrait session with Amber and Sean. They had a break between their ceremony and reception so we had plenty of time to stop off at a beautiful park to take some photos.
#alisonyinweddings One of my favorite frames from Amber and Sean’s wedding a couple of weeks ago. Great light + color + framing + her smile = 👌🏽. We’ve lagged on doing story sneaks for our last few weddings but it’s no longer the holidays and it&rs
