About a month ago, I was approached to put together an aspiring dancer's portfolio: Nikki Kellogg, 22, is planning to move to L.A. to audition and make a go at becoming a top dancer - she's aiming for Beyonce status so girlfriend needed some top notch photos to show around town. This was an entirely new project for me, and we spent quite a bit of time planning our shoots and what kind of photos she wanted to showcase her looks and talent. We did a combination of "studio-esque" shots with dancing in the street and more traditional head shots. Nikki was really wonderful to work with, which made my job a whole lot easier. Here are just a few of the photos that we made prints of for her final portfolio.

Yen Yen just so happens to be my second cousin, but since we have a very large extended family and grew up on opposite ends of California, I'm just now getting to know her and, of course, Davin. These two are so sweet and easy going that we had a lot of fun going through various parts of downtown San Francisco before ending up at Baker beach. On the sandy hill just above the beach there are a ton of old Cypress trees that have been so windblown that half of their roots are above ground. Yen Yen and Davin were such good sports as I had them climb through the roots and up and down the sandy hill. We're thrilled to photograph their wedding next spring!

If Kimberly and Paul's wedding had been a movie, it would've been called "The Beauty and the Comedian." Kimberly was a perfectly gorgeous bride in her champagne dress, and Paul kept everyone laughing throughout his toast. I can only imagine that being part of their family would be joyous and fun everyday. Kimberly may not be the mother of Paul's children, Isabel and Jack, but seeing how much the four of them love each other was truly special.
Now, I may not be much of a fancy hat person (although I did enjoying trying on hats at Saks when I was little), but I do have one classic fedora, which Adm gave to me. I am sorry to say that my hat would have been put to shame at this wedding: all the women wore amazing hats and fascinating fascinators. There was truly some great style at this wedding, and Adm and I thoroughly enjoyed taking it all in.

Since it was a second wedding for both, Karen and Ron decided to keep their ceremony sweet and simple and just for themselves. They flew in from Palm Springs to be married on a Wednesday at a beautiful spot overlooking the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. It was just the two of them with the minister and me, as their photographer and witness. Following their vows, we had a lovely and leisurely photo session throughout the Palace and Crissy Beach.
