Introducing: PHOTOSHELTER

During the wedding "off-season," I've spent a significant amount of time researching new products and methods to make my business flow more smoothly and provide the best client experience possible. That said, I'm happy to introduce Photoshelter, which is my new site for online ordering and proofing galleries. I've actually been using Photoshelter since 2006, however mainly for my journalism and editorial work. It seemed like a natural progression to use it for my wedding work as well so that I can better streamline part of the "post-production" process. I think Photoshelter offers a wonderful solution for hosting galleries, showcasing images online and providing easy, user-friendly online ordering.  You can view all of your images large with a slide show as well as very easily create a "lightbox" of your favorite images for creating albums or comparing images when ordering prints. All weddings, engagements and portrait sessions will now be hosted on Photoshelter here.  I am in the process of transferring previous events to Photoshelter, however, you can still find past events on the "old" system here.  Thanks for your patience during this transition!  I'd love to hear any feedback/thoughts on the change!

Reshma + Jimmy Engagement, Part 2

For the second and third parts of Reshma and Jimmy's engagement session, we shot in San Francisco at McCovey Cove and Baker Beach for the fantastic views of the Golden Gate Bridge.  These two are big Giants (and sports in general) fans - Jimmy and his dad even have their own cement block showing their support outside AT&T Park!  As an L.A. native, I don't know if I can forgive him for hating on the Dodgers....  At any rate, the light was great, and Reshma and Jimmy muscled through the wind and the cold for a great session!

Reshma + Jimmy Engagement, Part 1

Jimmy_Reshma_012 We had a lot of fun with Reshma and Jimmy.  I actually knew Jimmy from working with him at the Oakland Tribune a couple of years ago so it was great to catch up and to meet Reshma, who is wonderful!  We actually ended up doing three different engagement shoots so check back later in the week for those.  For our first shoot, Reshma and Jimmy introduced us to a hidden gem in Morgan Hill: Castillo Winery.  The winery is fairly new and owned by a lovely family who gave us free roam of the property for their engagement photos.  I immediately headed for the field of mustard flowers, which are so beautiful and only bloom during late winter/early spring.  Check out the color!

Ginny + Sep Engagement

Ginny_Sep_043

Ginny and Sep's engagement session marks the start of our 2010 wedding season, which is shaping up to be a BUSY one (only a few more spots left)!  Woohoo!  We had a great time photographing these two in San Francisco AND lucked out with a beautiful day!  Sep prefaced the session by letting us know that he doesn't enjoy having his picture made, and by the end of the shoot, he was making suggestions for spots to be photographed in.  Now, that's the power of the engagement session: not only do you come away with another set of beautiful photos, but if you're shy in front of the camera, it's great practice for your wedding day and you find out that we're not so scary after all!

We started at Sutro Baths, which is amazing, and I'm embarrassed to admit that neither Adm or myself had been there so it was super fun to explore a new place.  We wandered in and out of the caves, climbed on mossy rocks, and jumped on springy bushes.  Next, we headed to the carousel at Golden Gate Park where I pulled out the viewfinder for a few photos with the square vintage look.  Ginny and Sep were so sweet to each other throughout the shoot, and they had great laughs!  Their wedding is going to be a blast!
