Alison + Bryan in San Francisco, CA

wedding at lyon street steps inspiration point and presidio golf course in presidio in san francisco, california. Alison and Bryan are SO much fun.  Need I remind you how I fell during their engagement session at Crissy Field last year and they kept me laughing all the way through to the end?  While their wedding remained injury-free, Alison and Bryan again kept me and everybody else smiling all day long.  This is a couple who, as they put it, cherishes one another so much that you can see it in every smiling moment.  I think my favorite moment of the day though was during their first look at Lyon Street Steps when Alison was caught between laughing and crying as she saw Bryan for the first time.  Seriously, it was one of the sweetest first looks that I've ever witnessed, and I still tear up a little when I look at those photos.

These two had a completely San Francisco wedding with portraits at Lyon Street Steps and their ceremony at Inspiration Point where guests were treated to an amazing view of the Marina and San Francisco Bay.  Afterwords, family and friends walked across the street to the vaulted ceiling and open beams of the Presidio Golf Course for the reception.  Adm and I have loved getting to know Alison and Bryan, which started over a little game of bean bags at Jaclyn and Andy's wedding last year, and we wish them nothing but love and happiness.

Ngoc + Steve Engagement

Beautiful engagement session at UC Berkeley campus in Berkeley, California. When it comes to engagement shoots, it's no standard day at the office for Adm and me.  Even when we know the locations, the situations often hold many surprises, and Ngoc and Steve's session was no exception.

When we pulled up to meet with Ngoc and Steve, Steve was hastily taking shots in the car.  OK, I kid I kid - there were no shots, but he was downing a beer as part of his mental preparation to get through what he thought was going to be a difficult portrait session.  I find that lots of my grooms are not always keen on having their picture taken so while I don't flat out tell them to drink to loosen up before our shoots, if they voluntarily opt for it, then let's just say I don't discourage it.

We started off getting lost among the cacti at the UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens before heading across the street to the Redwood Amphitheater (one of my personal favorites!) where we found ourselves completely alone with some very beautiful light.

Next we drove down the hill to Ngoc and Steve's alma mater, Cal, where Steve treated us to VIP parking, albeit in a construction zone.  Normally I wouldn't consider mentioning a parking spot, but finding a prime parking spot on campus, though technically illegal, is pretty amazing.  We finished the evening with Ngoc and Steve in the Berkeley hills where we were treated to a sweeping view of the Bay, and at the end of the session, Steve actually admitted that he really enjoyed it (which is a total success in my book!).  These two are getting hitched in December so stay tuned for wedding photos to come!

Melissa + Donovan Featured on Something Turquoise

Today, Melissa and Donovan's gorgeous Napa wedding is featured by Jen on Something Turquoise!  Jen is even posting a follow-up tutorial on how to make those super cute flower toss baggies so check back for some DIY inspiration.  We loved photographing this wedding and are so excited to see it on Something Turquoise.  Thanks for the beautiful post, Jen!

Bee + Stanley

San Francisco Bay Area destination wedding photography Bee and Stanley were out here visiting from Malaysia and even though they're technically married, they wanted to do some wedding portraits around the city.  We hit up a lot of the San Francisco landmarks including the cable cars and Golden Gate Bridge, which we had to visit twice because the first time, it was completely covered in fog.  These two, who have known each other since primary school and reconnected at a class reunion 15 years later, are planning a small wedding ceremony at home in December.  We wish them lots of love and happiness.
