Adm and I love love LOVE photographing weddings mainly because we love couples in love. All couples in love. We are staunch supporters of marriage equality for everyone. So, we were over the top excited when we learned last week that after years of deliberation, the Conservative Rabbinical Assembly has voted in favor of providing guidance to rabbis for performing same-sex marriages. This decision has been a big deal within the Jewish community, and it was icing on the cake when one of the photos from Margee and Kate's wedding last year was chosen to help illustrate it. The article and photo have been making the rounds internationally, including in Ha'aretz and The Jewish Daily Forward.

We loved photographing Athena and Armando's wedding not only because Athena and Armando were so lovely to work with, but also because their wedding took place practically in our own backyard in Oakland. For those of you who don't know, we are big-time Oakland fans, yet rarely do we get to work in our city. So, when we learned that Athena and Armando also loved Oakland, we were super excited to photograph them all around Lake Merritt and connect over our mutual love of our town.
We just came off of one of the most beautiful and fun wedding weekends for our dear dear friends Beth and Daniel. While we didn't photograph the main event, we did take pictures of their intimate church ceremony the day before, and so I wanted to share one frame of the newlyweds. Congrats, you two! We love you so much and had the best time at your wedding! Happy honeymooning!

I have a lovely engagement session to share with you all today! Larabeth and Matt were so fun and patient as we dragged them from one end of San Francisco to another, starting in the Presidio and ending along the Embarcadero by way of North Beach and the batteries overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. Larabeth loves design and so we had a great time hopping in and out of different kinds of doorways, garages and side walls as we explored North Beach. These two are running off to Australia for two weeks to combine their wedding (just the two of them) and honeymoon in June - doesn't that sound so romantic? Have the best time ever!
One of the main reasons we love being photographers is that we love meeting new people, having new experiences and exploring new places. See a theme? So, even though we were pretty familiar with the Brazilian Room in Tilden Park in Berkeley, we had never been to the Botanical Gardens just down the road. We were super excited when April and Jace decided to do their portraits there before the ceremony - the place is a living candy store (a ten acre garden to be exact) bursting with many of California's most beautiful rare and endangered plants. Our portrait session in the gardens, with April and Jace taking in the beauty and serenity of the trees around them, was the perfect way to start their wedding. What followed was an incredibly intimate celebration where each guest toasted and gave their blessing to the couple. April and Jace, we wish you many happy years!
